His blade passed close to my skin. I could feel the heat emanating from the demonic sword.  I swung my blade towards the winged demon, and it landed hard on his
shoulder armore. The sound of a loud crack  resounded throughout the large domed underground chamber, as his armore fractured slightly.  The demon laughed. I took a new
stance  with one hand waist high palm flat up, and the other hand hovering above it, fingers pointed down.  A crackling sound filled the air as I powered up my demonic energy.  

Yes, I am half demon and I come with the whole package.

Chapter 1:

               A vampire. How could this even be possible? I couldnt be a vampire, such things went against everything i knew. The scientific term for vampirism, if such disease existed, would be, Porophyric Hemophilia. Yet there i lay in disbeleif, on the cold pavment trying not to move, the fiery pain destroying what sanity i had left.  I couldnt give in, not to something i was imagining. In my mind however, i knew that this was real. i had contracted porophyric hemophilia and i couldnt do anything about it.

           
The Sound of a Feather I knew what I was. Avian, bird-kid, whatever it is you want to call me. Being an avian means i have large wings overlapping my shoulderblades. I can use them too, I can fly easily for 13 hours and  before i get tired.Ok maybe im overdoing it, more like 5 hours max . It isnt as easy as it sound though trust me, constantly running from and fighting biogenetically enhaced humans that want to capture you for cash. Sigh. Life isnt as horrid as i sounds, but it isnt easy even still. "Shawn," I heard my mother calling my name. Everyone, here is a sneak peek at part of the first couple, chapters of my book, Avian:

Chapter 1: Damien's past-

                The one thing that sets me apart from normality, from humanity in whole, is that i am a human but my DNA has avian counterparts mixed in, so i have large wings where my shoulder blades are. not to mention my superior speed, hearing,smelling, feeling, sight, and even taste, and thats just naming a few of them.
